Working For Tax Reform
Working to make the Bush tax cuts permanent, both for individuals and for small businesses.
Working to prevent Congress from raising taxes on small businesses that will hurt economic growth and job creation.
As a first step in reforming the code, the President has created a bipartisan panel to advise the Secretary of the Treasury on options to reform the tax code.
Tax Reform Issues
Restraining spending by the Federal Government.
Reforming the tax code, as the President believes that America's taxpayers deserve, and our future economic prosperity demands, a simpler, fairer, more pro-growth system.
Taxes should be applied fairly, and reform should recognize the importance of homeownership and charity in our American society.

The Republican Agenda for Tax Reform

President Bush and the Republican party are seeking to make his tax cuts permanent, as a means to further grow the economy.  The President's tax relief has helped workers keep more of their paychecks; helped families by lowering rates and doubling the child credit; reduced the marriage penalty; and put the death tax on the road to extinction.  To keep the small business sector thriving and creating jobs, Congress needs to make tax relief permanent.
